12. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (12-17) (4-12 ACC)

Last rank: 11th (↓1)

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets slide a bit in the latest ACC basketball power rankings after a bitter defeat in Charlottesville at the hands of the Virginia Cavaliers. The Yellow Jackets fell 81-51 on Wednesday night in their biggest conference loss of the year.

Georgia Tech shot 37.5 percent from the floor and 29.4 percent from 3-point land as their opponent shot over 50 percent from the field and 3-point range. They’ve won just one game in their last 10 attempts and continue to struggle under head coach Josh Pastner.

They’re on their way to their worst performance under Pastner since he began the job before the 2016-17 season. It will be interesting to see if things can improve as the schedule winds down.

While it wasn’t the Yellow Jackets worst performance from an offensive standpoint, the sting of a 30-point loss will certainly be felt by this group. They’ve got two games left on the slate before the conference tournament begins. First, they host Boston College on Sunday then on Wednesday they’ll face the NC State Wolfpack.
