Experience

This season Rutgers is one of the youngest teams in the Big Ten. They have one senior on the entire Roster and only one junior who plays significant minutes. Next season and into the future this is going to be different. The core of point guard Geo Baker, guards Ron Harper Jr., Montez Mathis and center Myles Johnson will all be in the program for the next two years. Johnson, Mathis and Harper Jr. are all Freshman and are going to impact this program in a huge way over the next three years.

Baker along with star in the making Eugene Omoruyi will both return next season. These two players make up most of the scoring for Rutgers this season and next year with expectations these two players are going to be expected to take their games to the next level. Throughout their careers these players have shown pressure does not bother them and they can take their games to the next level.

Baker makes the clutch shots you want a leader and point guard to make late in games. Omoruyi gets the key offensive and defensive rebounds that end possessions. These two players are the two most important players on the team. Earlier this season when Omoruyi was hurt with a knee injury the Scarlet Knights were trying to find their way.

In a win over Nebraska the junior returned to play significant minutes and swung the game in Rutgers favor. When the junior plays and is healthy Rutgers is dangerous. The increase in experience next year may swing them a few close games on the road. The Scarlet Knights are a much better team at home than on the road, but then again so are most teams in College Basketball.
