Key Players

Mike Daum – South Dakota State

It is hard to write into words anything about Mike Daum that fans do not already know. Daum a native a Kimball, NE was lightly recruited out of high school. No one could have predicted how prolific his career was going to be. In the four years he has been in college he has scored over 3,000 points in his career and over 1200 rebounds. His abilities have helped contribute to the South Dakota State dominance over the last four years. The senior big man will go down as the best Jackrabbit to ever step foot on the floor.

Zach Jackson – Omaha

Jackson a senior guard has helped lead Omaha to the top of the conference standings. The senior guard is averaging just over 18 points per contest. If Jackson would play in any other conference other than the one with Mike Daum in it, he would be one of the favorites for the conference player of the year. He is the key piece for the Mavericks. Omaha is looking to make their first NCAA tournament in school history and if they do the senior guard will likely be the catalyst of the magical run.

John Konchar – Fort Wayne

The Mastodons are one of the better teams in the league and Konchar is a big reason why. He averages just under 20 points per game and just under nine rebounds per contest. Much like the other two players in this list Fort Wayne would not be nearly as good without the services of the senior guard. The guard has saved the best for last as he has put up career scoring numbers this season. The Mastodons hope the guard has a special final act planned, one that can get his team to the NCAA tournament for the first time ever.

David Jenkins – South Dakota State

The Sophomore guard plays second fiddle to Daum, as would anyone who shares the court with him. Jenkins when paired with Daum makes a great duo and one that potentially can do some damage. Jenkins averages almost 20 points per game in his own right and is a tremendous shooter. The sophomore is ready to take over the Jackrabbits and stake his claim as the best player in the Summit League next season, first he would like an NCAA tournament win to add to his resume.
