Indiana Hoosiers

Indiana fell short of expectations this year, but the Hoosiers can still make the NCAA tournament thanks to a season sweep over top-10 Michigan State. Unfortunately for Indiana, one of the major contributors for this borderline tournament-worthy team is probably going to leave early. Romeo Langford is slated to go in the lottery and will probably go one-and-done. On top of his departure, interior-anchor Juwan Morgan is set to graduate as well. This leaves Archie Miller with two predominant needs: an immediately-contributing center and an off-ball scoring option.

Looking at Miller’s 2019 class, the first need was definitely met. 5-star center Trayce Jackson-Davis will take Juwan Morgan’s spot right away. He is one of the best recruits in the nation and is a very versatile piece that Bloomington will adore. Also aiding Jackson-Davis in replacing Morgan will be 2018 4-star Jerome Hunter, who missed his whole freshman year due to injury. He looks to have monster potential as well.

Another piece in Indiana’s 2019 class is 3-star SG Armaan Franklin. Now he might not match Langford’s production right off the bat, but he plays the same position and has the potential to develop into that reliable off-ball scorer role in a couple years. Overall, this recruiting class definitely meets the needs of Indiana’s roster structure.

Additionally, the class might not be done just yet. 5-star SF Keion Brooks is set to decide on March 15th. He is a local kid that has been high on the Hoosiers ever since the start of his recruitment. It looks like it’s down to Kentucky, Indiana, and Michigan State for him. While experts think he will be heading to Lexington, Indiana’s chances with him are still good enough for IU fans to hold out some hope.
