Nebraska Cornhuskers

Tim Miles looks to be on the way out in Lincoln. To make matters worse, a bunch of production will be leaving Lincoln at the same time. Nebraska will have to replace the following four seniors: James Palmer Jr. (34.3 MPG), Isaac Copeland Jr. (30.7 MPG), Glynn Watson Jr. (33.3 MPG), and Tanner Borchardt (17.8 MPG). Even a program that’s in great shape would have a hard time after losing that kind of production, let alone a program in flux like Nebraska.

So since Nebraska’s team needs are far and wide thanks to all those graduating seniors, let’s take a look at how current recruiting class fills those needs. The three commitments in the class right now are combo guard Mika Adams-Woods, SG Jervay Green (Juco transfer), and SF Akol Arop. These three perimeter guys would join the classes of 2017 and 2018 which featured a combined 5 perimeter guys as well. From this abundance of perimeter options, Husker fans could bank on finding a few good options to step up and fill in the shoes left by guards Glynn Watson Jr. and Jesse Palmer Jr.

The front-court picture looks much less secure though. Isaiah Roby will definitely have a prominent role next year as a senior, while rising soBrady Heiman will play as well. Other than that, the front-court is dangerously thin in Lincoln. The fact that there isn’t a big man in the current class or a target in the picture, it’s not looking good in that regard. Maybe a grad transfer can be snagged in the offseason by whoever is coaching by then, as that might be Nebraska’s only option at this point.
