2. McDermott and Tucker find some heaters.

Jorgensen is not alone, though, as a perimeter threat for the Butler Bulldogs. There are two other potential sharpshooters on the roster in Sean McDermott and Jordan Tucker, and the Dawgs absolutely need both players to catch fire in order to make a deep run happen. This, though, will not be easy when you consider how ice cold the duo has been over the past couple of weeks.

Most notably, McDermott has been in a massive slump, shooting just 2-for-17 (11.8%) from beyond the arc over his last four games. Thankfully, though, this has not seemed to shake his confidence as he still took his fair share of shots in those contests. A better than 40% shooter from beyond the arc prior to this stretch, one has to expect that the junior forward returns to his form soon. And if he does, Butler will be a much more difficult team to defend.

Additionally, highly-touted sophomore Jordan Tucker has experienced his fair share of struggles as of late. A former Duke commit, this has been Tucker’s first half-season with the Butler program and he has shown signs of stardom as well as struggles. Just like McDermott, J-Tucks has shot the ball poorly over the last four games, connecting on just 5-for-18 (27.8%) from three during this stretch. He has also been just as poor inside the arc as he is only 3-for-9 (33.3%) on those attempts.

In order for Butler to make a deep run in the Big East Tournament, these two both need to be on their games. The Dawgs are at their best when letting it fly from distance as they have three shooters who can fill it up and two dangerous attacking guards in Baldwin and sophomore Aaron Thompson.
