Big 12 Basketball: 2019 Bracketology predictions for Selection Sunday

Texas Tech Red Raiders
The Texas Tech Red Raiders had an outside chance at a two seed coming into the Big 12 Tournament but they failed to care of business as they lost against West Virginia in their opener. They seemed uninterested in that game and hopefully, it was just because they had already shifted their focus towards making a deep NCAA Tournament run.
Texas Tech has an 8-5 record against quad 1 teams and their only loss outside of that was the one against WVU. They finished with an 8-0 quad 2 record and then a 10-1 record in quad’s 3/4. During the regular season, they took care of business against the weaker teams while they also picked up some high-level wins.
Similar to the majority of the Big 12 their resume is headlined by their win over Kansas. They dominated that game against the Jayhawks but they also have wins against Kansas State and Iowa State.
This team is absolutely elite on the defensive end and they continue to improve on the offensive end. They are led by Big 12 Player of the Year Jarrett Culver and he now seems to be a lock to be selected in the lottery of next year’s NBA Draft.
They have a shot at playing their first two games in Tulsa as well as having a shot to be in the Midwest regional in Kansas City. Wherever they play expect them to pick up some wins because that defense will be tough for any team to prepare for.
