Mike Young, Wofford

Head coach Mike Young just had the best head coaching season of his career with the Wofford Terriers. He led them to a 29-4 record on the season and an undefeated 18-0 year in Southern Conference play, culminating in a conference tournament title, his first since the 2014-15 season.

Young could very well be a lifer at Wofford for all we know. He’s spent all 17 seasons of his head coaching career with Wofford and is making his fifth NCAA Tournament appearance with the team.

They earned a No. 7 seed in the field and will face an upstart Seton Hall Pirates squad, which should be a fun game. Sharpshooting senior Fletcher Magee is leading the charge this season, averaging 20.5 points per game on 42.8 percent shooting from behind the arc. Behind him, there’s Cam Jackson, averaging 14.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per contest.

A few marquee victories could propel Young’s coaching resume into a bigger position. First, they’ll need to handle Seton Hall.
