2019 NCAA Tournament: TCU, Indiana, Alabama among top Selection Sunday snubs
No. 1 TCU Horned Frogs
Lukas had TCU as one of his last four in, over 100 brackets had TCU in and I myself had the Horned Frogs as one of the last four bye teams. The Big 12 was a tough league this year. Them, the Big Ten and ACC all had a right to claim themselves as the best conference in the country. At one point, we were going to put eight out of 10 teams from the Big 12 in. But after Texas finished .500, seven seemed like a better number.
TCU was ranked for the first three weeks, but dropped out once they lost to Lipscomb. But the Bisons ended up controlling the Atlantic Sun for most of the season. The Frogs won nine-straight to get back into the polls. But once again, they were a team that couldn’t sustain more than a two-game winning streak in conference. TCU picked up nice wins over Baylor and Iowa State twice throughout the season.
The Frogs beat Florida during the Big 12/SEC challenge which was pretty nice for their resume. After their win in Ames, TCU started one of their three-game losing streaks. The last loss came at Oklahoma State. The Horned Frogs snapped it with another win over the Cyclones. But then they lost to West Virginia. They lost four out of five including to two the clear worst teams in the conference.

TCU finished 7-11 tied for seventh with Oklahoma. The Horned Frogs stayed alive for one more day with a win over the Cowboys. But then they ultimately lost to the number one seed Kansas State. The Frogs didn’t get a signature win in the Big 12 Tournament, but avoided a bad loss and didn’t have a bad defeat. TCU had a better record than Oklahoma, ranked just outside the NET top-50, but had an average inside the top-50. Every other bracketologists had them just in the NCAA Tournament, but the committee snubbed them from dancing.
