7. Tyler Herro, Kentucky Wildcats

The Kentucky Wildcats are back in the NCAA Tournament once again with another group of freshmen. This year, they’re largely led by sharpshooter Tyler Herro. Herro was second on the team in scoring and one of their best 3-point shooting threats all season.

He averaged 14.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game through his 33 appearances and shot 37.3 percent from the field. During the conference tournament, he put up 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game through two contests.

Though he’s an efficient shooter (46.9 percent on the season), he’s more than just that in the Wildcats rotation. Through the last 10 games, his scoring increased to 16.3 points and rebounds to 5.3 per contest as Kentucky went 7-3 to close out their schedule.

In the Midwest region as a No. 2 seed, the Kentucky Wildcats have a chance to make the Sweet 16 with their freshmen cast. Herro will be one key cog, the other being SEC Freshman of the Year, Keldon Johnson.
