4. Can Fletcher Magee carry the Terriers in the NCAA Tournament?

The Wofford Terriers are making an appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015, back when head coach Mike Young led them to a 28-7 record. This season has been one of their best in school history as they’re 29-4 and went undefeated in Southern Conference play at 18-0.

The Terriers have seen their success grow as a team behind the play of senior guard Fletcher Magee. Magee produced 20.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game as the team’s leading scorer on offense. He shot 42.8 percent from 3-point range on 4.6 made 3-pointers per game and currently leads the nation in 3-pointers made per game this season.

As the SoCon Player of the Year, all eyes will be on Magee to produce but he has help as well. Senior forward Cameron Jackson is another player that’s emerged as a threat on the interior. He’s averaging 14.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game in 2018-19.

As a 7-seed in this year’s field, there’s not much room for error for the Terriers, which just means it’ll be a greater challenge for Magee and company. They haven’t faltered yet, so don’t be surprised if they’re a big storyline after the first weekend.
