7. C.J. Massinburg, Guard, Buffalo

Much like Nevada, the Buffalo Bulls find themselves in a very similar spot.

Albeit not as disappointing, Buffalo spent the entire season just about ranked among the Top 25, due to a big run in the NCAA Tournament last season, and a good deal of production in non-conference play.

As a six seed, Buffalo is now in a position in which they finally won’t be the ones looking for the upset, rather they’ll be on upset alert.

Luckily for them, they happen to have one of the better players in the country in C.J. Massinburg.

The senior guard is a stellar all-around player, and does just about everything for the Bulls.

Massinburg put up big numbers for the Bulls all season, and had a big stretch run during Buffalo stint in last year’s NCAA Tournament, which included a major upset over the Arizona Wildcats.

Buffalo will face the winner of St. John’s/Arizona State, and will face a challenge against a power conference team.
Although Buffalo might be better on paper, the Bulls are still disadvantaged as a low major team, and will need all the star power they can get.

That star power begins and ends with the play of Massinburg, who will need to be at his absolute best if he wants to make a long run with Buffalo in his final trip to the NCAA Tournament.
