March Madness: Top 100 players in the 2019 NCAA Tournament
20. Cam Johnson – North Carolina
2018-19 stats: 16.9 ppg 5.8 rpg 2.3 apg
It’s been an outstanding senior season for the former Pitt Panther, making 47% of his three-point shots. Besides Luke Maye, the 6’9 guard was the clear No. 2 scoring option, reaching double figures in all but two games. His most impressive may have come when he dropped 26 at Duke for the win, without making a single shot from deep. Johnson now is arguably the most important Tar Heel this season.
19. Myles Powell – Seton Hall
2018-19 stats: 22.9 ppg 4.1 rpg 2.9 apg
After losing four starters from last season’s NCAA Tournament team, Powell was tasked with carrying a much less talented roster back. Somehow, Powell was able to do that, thanks to scoring 34 to beat Marquette, 28 against Kentucky and 27 over Maryland. That doesn’t even include the 40-point effort against Grand Canyon early on in the season.
18. Admiral Schofield – Tennessee
2018-19 stats:16.2 ppg 6.1 rpg 2.1 apg
One of the best “sidekicks” in the country, the senior wing has had several moments where he took a starring role for the Vols. Schofield had a season-high 30 points in the win over then No. 1 Gonzaga and put up a game-high 21 points in the SEC semifinals battle against Kentucky. He’s one of the most physical players in the country and has the ability to take over any game.
17. Ty Jerome – Virginia
2018-19 stats: 13.0 ppg 4.1 apg 5.4 apg
He doesn’t put up the high scoring games like Kyle Guy and isn’t a projected lottery pick like De’Andre Hunter by Jerome is the most important player on the team. He makes nearly 40% from deep on five attempts and is one of the best all-around players in the country. Whether it’s passing, rebounding, and defense especially, there are few players better than Jerome from an individual standpoint.
16. PJ Washington – Kentucky
2018-19 stats: 14.8 ppg 7.6 rpg 1.9 apg
After flirting with the NBA his freshman season, Washington became one of the breakout players this season. He led the team in both points and rebounds and scored 20+ points in a stretch of seven out of eight games. Washington is the top frontcourt option for the Wildcats and has greatly improved his pro stock.
