1. Ty Jerome and Kyle Guy – Virginia

Virginia ranked first in March? That’s a first hahaha. No, but seriously, this is the best backcourt in the country. Ty Jerome is a 6’5 dad who talks smack, dictates the pace of play from the point guard position, and shoots about 94% on mid-range floaters. They call him TY BALL GAME for a reason: because when he breaks your team’s back with a clutch shot late in the second half, he has the gonads to call “GAME!” I love him, and he’s only half of this legendary backcourt.

Kyle Guy: the good guy and the bad guy, the double identity, the heart-less soul-crushing big shot maker, and the polo-wearing sweet-smiling Virginian. On the court, Kyle is a robot: nothing really phases him. No matter the score or the situation or the level of competition, my Guy is getting his shots in, no matter how many hands are in his face.

There’s something to be said for having a fearless, thoughtless, sometimes unconscious high-volume shot-maker on your roster. With God all things are possible. And with Guy, a victory over a sixteen seed is possible. Go Cavs! Go Kyle Guy!
