Fletcher Magee – Wofford

FLETCHER. What a statement for Magee and the Terriers. With a 15-0 three-point barrage Wofford put Seton Hall away and showed the poor souls who haven’t watched them this season how they play.

Magee shot the lights out like usual, throwing up a casual 24 on 7-12 three-point shooting, which normally would be more than enough to earn a spot on the day’s top performers list. But, he also broke the NCAA record for three-pointers in a career passing former Oakland star Travis Bader after having already passed his idol JJ Redick earlier in the season.

Let’s have a quick shoutout for Myles Powell who single-handedly tried to keep Seton Hall alive. The junior finished with 27 points and none of his teammates scored in double-figures.

I cannot wait for a Kentucky-Wofford second round matchup. Reminds me of the 2014 tournament where the No.1 seed Wichita State entered a second round matchup with a 8-seeded Kentucky team 35-0.

It provided the game of the tournament, and the soul of college basketball felt like it was on the line as the Wildcats prevailed, but those two teams never should have met that early in the bracket. And it’s happening again with a great mid-major squad and Kentucky. Get your popcorn ready.
