The Big Ten

The Big Ten sent eight teams to the Big Dance this year, the most of any league and the most in conference history. They have responded with first round dominance.

The conference nearly went unbeaten in the first round, going 7-1 including a pair of upsets today.

Ohio State took care of a hot Iowa State squad fresh off a Big 12 Tournament title, and Iowa defeated a Cincinnati team that was under-seeded and primed for what would essentially be a home matchup in the second round vs Tennessee.

The Big Ten might not have been as top heavy as the ACC this season, but the conference is out to prove its the best in the nation with their tournament play so far.

Jarrett Culver – Texas Tech

The Big 12 Player of the Year came to play against the Northern Kentucky Norse, leading the Red Raiders to a 72-57 win with the line of the first round (none Ja Morant division)

Culver went for 29 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and one block with effiecient shooting from the floor (10-17) and behind the line (3-5).

TTU were a dark horse Final Four selection heading into the tournament. They’ll need another performance like this from Culver to get past a tough Buffalo squad.
