Big 12 Basketball: Texas Tech only Big 12 team to make the Sweet 16

Texas Tech to the Sweet 16
The Texas Tech Red Raiders have been the best team in the conference over the past two months and they proved it as they are the only Big 12 team still alive as we get set for the Sweet 16 later this week. They picked up a good win over Northern Kentucky, but they made an absolute statement against Buffalo.
This is a team that is one of the best teams in the country on the defensive end and they had one of their most impressive performances of the season in the second round victory. They were also good on the offensive end and when you combine it with their defense they will be extremely tough to beat.
Texas Tech needs to be talked about more on the national stage. They have been an elite team all season, but for whatever reason, they continue to be disrespected. If this team plays like they’re capable of on both ends of the floor then this team can make the Final Four and possibly win a national title.
The Red Raiders win over Buffalo was one of the most impressive wins of the first week of the NCAA Tournament. The Bulls were one of the best offensive teams in the country, but they were unable to get anything going against Texas Tech. They would go on to win this game 78-58 while holding the Bulls to just 36% shooting.
The Big 12 as a whole has been inconsistent this season outside of Texas Tech. That is why they’re the only team remaining from the conference. They get set to play a very good Michigan team on Thursday night and it is very winnable for them. If they play as they’re capable of, then expect the Red Raiders to advance.
