Texas Tech’s Defense

The Red Raiders swallowed up one of the top offenses in the country in the second round, shutting down the Buffalo Bulls 78-58, nearly 30 points below their season average. When it came to the unmovable Texas Tech defense vs the unstoppable Bulls offense, the defense won out.

The Red Raiders also showed out on offense in what was a complete-game performance. All five starters scored in double-figures. Michigan stands in the way of the TTU’s second consecutive Elite Eight appearance.

Let’s also pour one out for this Bulls who won tournament game in dominant for the second year in a row.

Oregon

The Ducks stroll into the second weekend taking the token subpar regular season Pac 12 that gets hot in the postseason spot.

12 seed Oregon is the closest thing left we have to a Cinderella after sending home our last hope for a true glass slipper by taking out 13 seed UC Irvine 73-54 in the final game of the first weekend.

Payton Pritchard (18-4-7-1) and company are now riding a 10-game winning streak into their matchup with 1 seed Virginia. Will the Ducks be stymied by the Cavs smothering style or can they knock out the first one seed of the tournament?

Shoutout to the Anteaters for weathering a couple of storms before completely falling off at the end. UC Irvine showed great resolve in their two games.
