4. North Carolina Tar Heels

Results: Wins over Iona (88-73) and Washington (81-59)

North Carolina entered the NCAA Tournament as a No. 1 seed and they have done nothing to warrant dropping since that point. The Tar Heels played quite well during the opening weekend and are deserving of being mentioned among the top title contenders at this point. UNC boasts one of the most high-powered offensive units remaining in the field as they have several players who can erupt on any given night. Most importantly, though, the trio of Luke Maye, Cameron Johnson, and Coby White is very dangerous.

When North Carolina is able to play at speed and seek out buckets in transition, they are nearly impossible to stop. They move the ball extremely well on the offensive end as they seemingly end every single possession with a quality shot attempt. On the defensive end of the floor, the Tar Heels have significantly improved over the course of the season and now sit among the elite nationally

If UNC is going to cut down the nets in April, though, their offense will be the focal point. This team can flat-out score the basketball and their pace is very difficult for other teams to handle. Unlike other teams in the nation who win by imposing a slow and methodical pace, the Tar Heels speed up opponents to the maximum. Not many teams can stay on North Carolina’s offensive pace when they get it going. Tempo can be everything for the Tar Heels.
