16. Oregon Ducks

Results: Wins over Wisconsin (72-54) and UC Irvine (73-54)

Oregon is arguably the hottest team in the country at this point in time. After struggling through much of the regular season, the Ducks are currently riding a 10-game winning streak to the Sweet 16  and it is extremely exciting to see where they are at this point in time. Dana Altman has his team playing at an extremely high level at this point in time and it is hard to imagine a more creative and confident point guard in the country than Payton Pritchard. Regardless of the situation, he seems to always either find a basket on his own or create for others. He has also improved tremendously as an opportunistic defender and that is taking him to the next level for the team.

During the opening weekend of March Madness, the Ducks took down Wisconsin and UC Irvine to reach the Sweet 16. Both victories were by double-digits and it is clear that they are a team nobody wants to see right now. Oregon is dominating on the defensive end of the floor and their offense has also been quite solid as well (outside of the first eight minutes of the Round of 32 second half). With strong leadership at the top of the rotation and plenty of young, athletic talent, this is a dark horse team to reach the Final Four. I mean…they are only two more wins away.

Oregon entered this season as a top-15 team in the nation and they are finally connecting on those preseason expectations. Of course, not many expected them to be in this position when Bol Bol went down for the year but yet, here we are. Oregon is definitely a dangerous team due to their defensive prowess.
