National title hopes for the Spartans?

The odds are pretty high! As the lone No. 2 seed in the Final Four, Michigan State checks in with the second-best odds to win the championship at +185, according to OddsShark. Top-seeded Virginia is the only team with better odds (+150) while Texas Tech (+425) and Auburn (+600) round out the group.

There are also matchup reasons to think the Spartans have a great chance to win a championship. For starters, Izzo is the only coach in Minneapolis that has coached in a Final Four before. Goins is also the only player who has been as a member of a team, as he was on the Michigan State team that made it in 2015. This tournament has shown us that experience matters and the Spartans are the only program that has it.

Oh yeah, they have that Winston guy, too, who has had the best tournament of anyone remaining in the field. He has proven he is capable of leading this group past some of the country’s best teams and looks ready to do so again.
