Jarrett Culver

Jarrett Culver is the best player in the Big 12 so it’s only fitting that he’s been the best in the NCAA Tournament. He has led the best team in the conference to the Final Four and has been the most impressive player in the conference during the tournament.

The way he impacts the game on both ends of the floor is crazy. He has led this team all season long and they have needed it, especially on the offensive end of the floor. His play has been big for his team and it’s why he’s a projected top-five pick in June.

To start off the NCAA Tournament against Northern Kentucky he had a big all-around game. He finished with 29 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. He was efficient as well, making 10-17 shots from the field including 3-5 from the three-point range. It was against either competition, but it was by far his best statistical output in the tournament.

Against Buffalo, he shot just 6-17, but he still had a great performance. In that game, he finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, three blocks, and two steals. Even when his shot isn’t falling he is able to impact the game in other ways, it truly is special.

In the win against Michigan, he went 0-5 from three-point range, but outside of that, he was fantastic. He finished with 22 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Texas Tech won that game 63-44 so as a whole team they were somehow better than normal on the defensive end, and he is a big part of that.

In the win over Gonzaga in the Elite Eight, he did struggle though. He still had solid numbers as he finished with 19 points, five rebounds, three steals, and two assists, but he was not efficient shooting the ball. Rui Hachimura did a very good job defending him as Culver went just 5-19 from the field, including 2-8 from three-point range. Even despite the shooting struggles in that game he has had an amazing NCAA Tournament run.
