23. Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners

2018-19 season record: 17-15 (11-7 in Conference USA)

Like how the MAAC was, Conference USA was a jumbled mess for most of conference play. The Roadrunners would’ve been the clear 2nd place team had they not lost four of their final six regular season games.

But with all of the other top teams in the league losing their best players, Texas-San Antonio has a legit chance of reigning supreme next season. That’s because they return both of their 20 ppg scorers in rising juniors Jhivvan Jackson and Keaton Wallace. Jackson, who led the team in scoring a year ago didn’t surprise anyone with his production by Wallace improved by nearly 10 ppg this past season. His best game was going for a career-high 45 points in the overtime win over Marshall.

The sophomore duo was great this year but the Roadrunners needed both of them to perform well in order to win games. There were times where the supporting cast wouldn’t hold up and contribute enough. With their third-leading scorer Nick Allen graduating, Pepperdine transfer Knox Hellums will be called upon to be a good enough shooter to give Jackson and Wallace that other threat.
