4. North Carolina Tar Heels

The North Carolina Tar Heels are losing three starters and freshman sensation Coby White heading into 2019-20 but it’s opened up the potential for them to have a strong 2019 recruiting class.

Head coach Roy Williams took a lot of scrutiny in the early going after losses to the Texas Longhorns and Michigan Wolverines but his team turned things around in ACC play, winning 15 of their final 16 games.

The Tar Heels made a run all the way to the Elite 8 in the NCAA Tournament before falling to the Auburn Tigers in the end. Their squad had a good mix of experience and youth that carried them far in the postseason.

They’re in the running for top prospects Cole Anthony, Matthew Hurt and Precious Achiuwa with two spots remaining to fill on the roster. If they can pull off two of the three, look for them to rise as a national title contender in 2019-20.
