3. Louisville Cardinals

The Louisville Cardinals finished with a 10-8 record in ACC play in 2018-19, sixth in the standings, but first-year head coach Chris Mack took some lumps of experience in Year 1.

The Cardinals fell apart after their loss to the Duke Blue Devils back in February but all that will be behind them in 2019-20 with the arrival of a strong 2019 recruiting class. Louisville started 7-2 in ACC play before finishing 2-4 to close out their final six games.

Sophomore Jordan Nwora still averaged 17.0 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game on 37.4 percent from behind the arc on the season. They’ll be young next year but Nwora is one player expected to lead the way and keep them consistent.

They still managed to make the NCAA Tournament, though they fell in the first round. With a strong supporting cast of players next year, look for the Cardinals to be a much stronger team in 2019-20.
