ACC Basketball: Way-Too-Early preseason power rankings for 2019-20
12. Boston College Golden Eagles
The Boston College Golden Eagles are losing guards Jordan Chatman to graduation and Ky Bowman to the NBA Draft but it’s next man up for them. They didn’t have freshman guard Wynston Tabbs due to injury towards the end of the regular season. His return will be a huge boost to their offense in 2019-20.
Junior forward Nik Popovic was another player who had a breakout season, producing 14.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per contest in 2018-19. Steffon Mitchell and Jairus Hamilton are a few players who will have to have breakout seasons next year for the Golden Eagles to be successful.
Mitchell averaged 7.9 rebounds per game, but his points per game were down to 4.6 per contest last season. Hamilton showed flashes of his potential, producing 5.6 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.
The Golden Eagles also have four quality prospects incoming in their 2019 recruiting class. With players from all positions incoming, they’re bound to have another young player or two stepping up next season.
