2019-20 Outlook

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are entering some interesting territory heading into the 2019-20 season. This offseason, its paramount that their coaching staff puts all hands on deck into their remaining 2019 targets. With two spots left to fill, there are definitely some weaknesses there for them to fill.

Their returning players had productive seasons in 2018-19 and so long as nobody else transfers, they should be in good shape next season, especially on defense. The Yellow Jackets ranked fifth in the ACC last season in scoring defense (66.6 points allowed per game). They have the ability to maintain this status, but they’ll need to combine it with some better offense on the other end.

Georgia Tech ranked last in the conference in scoring offense (65.3 points per game), 3-point field goal percentage (30.7 percent) and 3-pointers made as a team (5.5 per game) last season. As the game continues to become more 3-point friendly, they’re going to have to adjust or Josh Pastner could find himself jobless soon.
