Miami Basketball: Early look at Hurricanes 2019 recruiting class
Outlook for 2019-20
With more firepower on offense, look for the Miami Hurricanes to be a much more competitive team this upcoming season. They took some lumps in 2018-19, but Chris Lykes continued to developed as a leader as the season progressed as did Dejan Vasiljevic, especially from behind the arc.
The departures of Anthony Lawrence Jr. and Zach Johnson will certainly be felt by this squad but with the 25th-ranked recruiting class in 2019 and an offer still pending for Tristan Enaruna, they could come out of this year’s recruiting cycle stronger than ever.
They’ve got returning weapons in Lykes and Vasiljevic. Vasiljevic averaged 11.8 points per game on 36.7 percent shooting from behind the arc in 2018-19. As their best returning 3-point shooter, he’s got an opportunity to break out even more with a bigger role.
Don’t sleep on the Miami Hurricanes, that’s good advice heading into a new season. After a season of growing pains, they’re prime for a solid season in the ACC in 2019-20.
