Stanford Cardinal

Stanford has missed the NCAA Tournament in each of the past five seasons, but that could change in the near future. This is due to the fact that the Cardinal nearly finished at .500 last year despite the rotation consisting of almost entirely underclassmen. Should everyone return for the next few years, Bynum would be a fine addition to the young core of the team. The expectation is that the point guard position is already locked down for the future with Daejon Davis and Tyrell Terry but Bynum would still be an immediately strong addition.

To put it simply, Bynum is a proven commodity in a relatively high-level conference. Because of this, he should find significant minutes over the course of his career at any of these final seven schools. It is also possible that he could take over primary playmaking duties for the team while allowing players like Davis/Terry to slide off the ball. This would create some versatility and the potential for a multi-guard lineup.

It may also be important to mention the geography of Bynum’s final seven. Stanford is the only program remaining that resides west of the Mississippi and that might play a role. In order for this outlier to occur, the Cardinal must be putting together a strong pitch. Additionally, if he is looking to leave the East Coast, this is clearly his top pick at this point. That might not be insignificant.
