Iowa Hawkeyes

Iowa is certainly a dark horse candidate in this transfer recruitment. Immediately following the Hauser Bros announced their intentions to transfer, MSU/Wisconsin/UVA were all linked as potential destinations. In fact, there were several pieces written by publications that follow each program regarding their potential fits. Iowa, though, was definitely overlooked and that might still be the case. Yet, the Hausers are going to visit campus and that is at least a sign that there is some interest.

Iowa might not be the most consistent or storied program receiving a visit from the Hausers but they are a potential landing spot. With Jordan Bohannon, Isaiah Moss and Ryan Kriener all graduating after this coming season, the Hawkeyes have some serious holes to fill and the Hausers would more than do the trick. Iowa has not been tremendously active in the transfer market in the past but it is easy to see why they are so engaged this time around.

With regards to ties to the school, Joey Hauser played alongside Joe Wieskamp for the Iowa Barnstormers on the AAU circuit. By the time that the brothers are eligible, Wieskamp will be entering his junior year and the expectation should be that he would be in a starring role for the team next to the Hausers. For reference, Wieskamp averaged 11.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game as a freshman during this past season. That trio would have the potential to be special and that relationship shouldn’t be underestimated.
