2019 NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Predicting landing spots for last top-100 players
By Josh Stevens
Lester Quinones – #79
Lester is a recruit that tends to be very one dimensional. He is a scorer and scorer only, his defense is lacking, but overall I think he could be one of the biggest impact recruits outside of the top 50. Lester is a recruit that reminds me a lot of Devin Booker. Both of them are going into their college years as pure scorers, with excellent strokes from three. Originally many thought he was going to be a LSU recruit, but now with the whole Will Wade scandal, the focus has shifted to Memphis.
The Memphis recruiting class is already one of the tops in the nation coming in next season. They have already landed three top 100 recruits in James Wiseman, DJ Jeffries, and Malcolm Dandridge. Adding a fourth and possibly more could elevate this class even more. The one thing this class does lack is scoring in the back-court. Quinones would add that no matter where he goes. Indiana is the back-up option at this point in my opinion. He would be a recruit that would add some range to an Indiana team that really struggled from behind the arc.
Prediction – Memphis
Memphis just has too much appeal to be passed upon for Quinones. He would have the ability to gain minutes and compete for a national title next season. Also, who would not want to be able to shoot whatever shot he wanted as he has James Wiseman to rebound the ball for him.
