5. TCU

The TCU Horned Frogs would be an interesting fit for Gilder. They had a disappointing 2018-19 season and now they will be without many of those players next season due to graduation and transfers. With Alex Robinson graduating and Jaylen Fisher transferring away there could be an opening at the point guard spot.

There are also some question marks surrounding the rest of their roster though. Star guard Desmond Bane is testing the NBA Draft process so it’s possible he isn’t back next season. They do bring in one top-100 recruit according to 247sports and that is guard P.J. Fuller who could be a quality replacement for Bane if he were to stay in the draft.

They do have some quality point guards on the roster who he would have to beat out or play alongside if he wants to be a starter. He would likely be the frontrunner, but Kendric Davis really picked it up late in the season so it’ll be exciting to see how he will play next season.

The obvious news around the TCU basketball program was the drama surrounding Jaime Dixon. He was rumored to be the next UCLA coach, but for whatever reason, he decided to stay at TCU. Many coaches were once considered the frontrunner for that job though. Dixon is back in Fort Worth and is going to look to lead this team back to the NCAA Tournament.

If TCU can get Desmond Bane back while bringing in Admon Gilder that would give them one of the best and most underrated backcourts in all of college basketball. While Gilder may prefer playing for a more prestigious program, the opportunity to play a key role on a team fighting for an NCAA Tournament berth is at the very least an intriguing option.
