Oregon Ducks

Pros

One of the hottest teams in the country heading into the 2019 summer, the Oregon Ducks are a very desirable landing spot for Jenkins.

The Ducks have recruited very well in recent years, and while Payton Pritchard will have graduated by the time Jenkins is eligible, the momentum that the Ducks have as a program should carry over well into their recruiting for the Class of 2020.

Furthermore, even though the Ducks are expected to recruit well, Jenkins would still play a leading role in the Oregon offense. Jenkins’ 20 points per game will certainly lead him to a primary role, which is even more important on a big conference team such as the Oregon Ducks.

Meaningful basketball is everything for non-NBA prospects and Jenkins would certainly get to play in all the meaningful games that he wants at Oregon.

Cons

While Oregon is projected to do well in the recruiting field, the Ducks are still not a sure thing, even with a big incoming class for the 2020 season.

In 2018, Oregon had a spectacular recruiting class but followed up their lofty expectation with a lowly season that took a Pac-12 Tournament Championship to save.

Although nothing has come of the rumors yet, the Ducks are caught up in the middle of an alleged recruiting violation scandal, with rumors that Bol Bol was paid at the center. If an investigation were to conclude by the beginning of this season, the Ducks would be met with necessary repercussions prior to Jenkins’ first season in Oregon. A postseason ban would be horrible news for Jenkins and would make his entire transfer process pointless.
