Georgia won just two SEC games in 2019

The only team on this list that didn’t make a coaching change in the offseason is Georgia who made the change a year earlier when they convinced former Indiana coach Tom Crean to run their program. In his first season, Crean’s Bulldogs struggled to a 13th place finish in the SEC where their only league wins came at Florida and against a winless Vanderbilt squad.

While almost every one of consequence returns for Georgia, the biggest question pertaining to last year’s team is whether sophomore forward Nicolas Claxton, who flourished under Crean to the tune of 13 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game, will return to school or remain in the NBA Draft, he has until May 29 to decide.

Big changes are coming in Athens for 2019, with a consensus top-ten recruiting class headlined by shooting guard Anthony Edwards and four other top-100 recruits. Three 6’6 small forwards in Christian Brown, Jaykwon Walker, and Toumani Camara will supplement the frontcourt and Sahvir Wheeler and a transfer from Northeastern Donnell Gresham, Jr. should help elevate the guard play. Don’t expect a repeat of last season’s 11-win campaign, the Bulldogs are looking to climb the standings in the SEC in a hurry.
