Alabama Crimson Tide

The best returning point guard in the SEC next season will likely be Kira Lewis, who wasn’t even eligible to declare because he wasn’t old enough. But the youngster still managed to lead the team in scoring and passing at 13.5 ppg and 2.9 apg. The 6’3 guard has both the athleticism and shooting to get a real good look by NBA teams next season. And with grad transfer guard James Bolden also only around for one season, that means that Alabama will have to find a new lead ball handler.

It’ll be a completely different roster under first-year head coach Nate Oats, who ran the 6th highest scoring offense last season at Buffalo. His teams tend to be high-octane and go up and down the court, which is different from the more methodical Villanova. Oats has a few top-100 guards coming in this season, including Jaylen Forbes and Jaden Shackelford. These would be the players Quinerly works with for the next few years if he picks the Crimson Tide.

There’s a lot of questions about Alabama Basketball though, including how Oats will do in a much tougher conference. There’s also a possibility that he would get a point guard for the 2020 recruiting class even if Quinerly joined. It’s an intriguing situation but one that currently has more questions than answers.
