Jonathan Kuminga – Centereach, NY

SF | 6-foot-8 | 205 lbs | No. 3 overall

One of the more defensively-polished prospects in the 2021 class, in my opinion, Jonathan Kuminga looks poised to be a monster threat on that end of the floor. With incredible length and athleticism to go with a 6-foot-8 frame, Kuminga can defend multiple positions, read passing lanes tremendously well, and also exhibits excellent timing when it comes to blocking shots. His defensive floor is quite high and the opportunity is certainly there for him to grow on the offensive end over the next couple of years.

In eight games for Rennaissance (17U) on the EYBL circuit, Kuminga has been absolutely tremendous in several facets of the game. In addition to showcasing his high defensive skill level, he is averaging 21.4 points (.478/.279/.629), 5.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. This development on the offensive end has put Kuminga in the conversation for the top overall player in the class as his ceiling seemingly just continues to rise.

Kuminga is adding more polish to his game at every opportunity and he will be one of the top college players in the country in a few years. Unlike some top players who are mainly known for filling up the basket offensively, Kuminga will be a top defender as well. The ceiling is not visible for his game.
