Andrei Savrasov – Russia

PF | 6-foot-9 | 215 lbs | No. 498 overall

Andrei Savrasov is an international prospect with a rather unknown set of skills. There is not a ton of information regarding his play but he did reportedly post relatively solid numbers while playing in Russia’s second division. It is also important to mention that he has already spent a semester with the Texas Tech program. Savrasov enrolled for the spring semester and used his redshirt year. Due to this fact, it is reasonable to assume that he will be part of the plans for the program relatively soon.

Texas Tech is losing plenty of talent this offseason and he could be a solid addition to the frontcourt. Norense Odiase and Tariq Owens, two pieces for the team during this past season, have both exhausted their eligibility and it is reasonable to assume that Savrasov could be among the options for playing time. It seems unlikely that he will be a major contributor next season but it’s not fair to count him out yet, either.

Savrasov is rated as a three-star recruit by 247Sports Composite but the overall lack of scouting makes him a bit of a mystery. Based on some highlight tape, he seems to show the ability to score off the bounce, make solid passes, and play as a point forward in some ways. Highlights are just highlights, though, and it is impossible to say exactly what he will bring to the table.
