NCAA Basketball: Top 25 most impactful freshmen for 2019-20 season

2) Cole Anthony, PG, North Carolina
Anthony is one of those five-star prospects that will be suiting up for a traditional power in North Carolina, yet he will immediately be relied upon as the go-to guy for the Tar Heels.
UNC has to replace their top five scorers from a year ago and only one returning player – Garrison Brooks – averaged more than 3.5 points per game. There is a lot of opportunity in Chapel Hill and Anthony is the one that will have the keys to the team.
A scoring point guard, Anthony is another tremendous athlete who is extremely quick. He can get by his defender with ease and excels at finishing around the rim, but also has developed a reliable three-point jumper. The 6-3, 185-pounder is also comfortable shooting off the dribble and creating his own shot, an NBA-level skill that Coby White had a lot of success with last season for the Heels.
That said, he is bound to drive Roy Williams a little crazy at times. Anthony can get a little too loose with the ball, force passes, and take bad shots. All of those things are byproducts of his confidence, but all are the kind of self-inflicted wounds he will need to clean up.
The good news is that North Carolina needs a truly elite, reliable go-to scorer, and Anthony fits that mold. UNC will only go as far as he takes them.
