Weaknesses

Jaxson Hayes is certainly a force already with his height at 6-foot-10 but he’ll need to add a bit of muscle to his 218-pound frame. He’s young at just 19 years of age and still has lots of work to do in the toughness and discipline department.

Hayes fouled out of four games during his freshman season with the Texas Longhorns and averaged 3.3 per contest. He’ll need to learn to defend without fouling or he could find sporadic playing time in his rookie NBA season.

Another concern for Hayes is his rebounding numbers. He finished averaging just 5.0 rebounds per game and only finished in double figures in rebounds on one occasion during his lone season of college basketball.

Although his rebounding numbers were a bit low, he made up for it with his ability to swat shots around the rim. It’s certainly an aspect of his game to keep an eye on as a traditional big man entering the league.
