50. Dejounte Murray – Washington Huskies

16.1 Points, 6.0 Rebounds, and 4.4 Assists

Murray arrived in Seattle to play the 2016 season under former head coach Lorenzo Romar. He was the second leading scorer for a Huskie team that finished 9-9 in conference and missed the NCAA Tournament. Romar would only coach the Huskies for one season after Murray’s departure. After the guard left the Huskies would only win nine games. Murray helped lead the Huskies to 19 wins. The guard did not shoot the ball well his one year in Seattle but he was efficient from inside the arc. Shooting at 45% from the 2 and showing his ability to impact the game both on the glass and with the ball in his hand getting his teammates involved. After his one season the guard was honored on the Pac-12 All-Freshman team as well as second team Pac-12 honors.

49. Andrew Wiggins – Kansas Jayhawks

17.1 Points, 5.9 Rebounds, 1.5 Assists

The native of Toronto entered his freshman season with all the hype that surrounds being the No. 1 recruit in the country. The forward set the Kansas freshman record for points in a season with 597. The record he broke was set a few years earlier by Ben McLemore. Wiggins set the Freshman scoring record at Kansas for points in a game with 41. He also led the team in steals. Many believe Wiggins never lived up to the hype of the overall Number 1 recruit, but the numbers would suggest otherwise.

48. Josh Jackson – Kansas Jayhawks

16.3 Points, 7.4 Rebounds, 3.0 Assists

Jackson was one of the more decorated freshmen in Kansas history. He was named the Big 12 Freshman of the year and was named on the All-America team. The forward posted 13 double double’s in his one year in Lawrence, a Kansas freshman record. Jackson was efficient from the floor, shooting 51% from the floor and almost 40% from long-range. He did struggle at the line only making 57% of his attempts. Jackson helped lead his team to the Elite Eight, and along with senior Frank Mason formed one of the best duos in the country.

47. Maurice Harkness – St. Johns Red Storm

15.5 Points, 8.6 Rebounds, 1.5 Assists

The forward played started all 32 games during his freshman season for head coach Steve Lavin and the Red Storm. That season the Red Storm only won 13 games a season after making the NCAA tournament. The fans in Queens were treated to two tremendous freshmen on that team. Harkless along with D’Angelo Harrison were stat stuffers for Lavin. Harkless led the team in blocked shots and rebounding, finished second in scoring and steals. These numbers allowed him to secure the Big East Rookie of the Year award. He was able to make his mark on the record books with a 32-point scoring outburst against Providence.

46. Nerlens Noel – Kentucky Wildcats

10.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.4 blocks

Noel made his mark on college basketball for his prowess on the defensive end. The center was a rebounding machine and was nearly impossible to score on in the paint. Even though he was not known for his scoring, the big man was still able to score double figures over the 24 games he played at Kentucky. With his season cut short due to a torn ACL, he still finds himself on this list. Noel had high games of 14 rebounds, 19 points and 12 blocks.
