Lamar Norman Jr. – Duquesne

At just 4.8 points in twelve minutes per game in his Freshman season, Norman hardly took the A10 by storm, but he showed enough to indicate that he should see a significant boost in minutes and production in this upcoming campaign.

With standout guard Eric Williams now out of the picture (transferred to Oregon), the Dukes will need a scorer to step up and take some attention off of Sincere Carry. Norman can create his own shot and score from all over the floor (37.7% from deep), and while he will need to improve his consistency, he topped fifteen points on four separate occasions and was the Dukes’ second leading scorer in their only conference tournament game. With a year of experience under his belt and a seemingly shorter rotation for Coach Dambrot to work with, Norman should have the opportunity to produce on a much steadier basis.

Don’t expect Norman to suddenly become a star or end up as a first-team all conference player – that could easily happen a few years down the road – but there’s no reason to believe that he won’t be a double-digit scorer and top 3-4 option on a rock solid team.
