Philadelphia 76ers

Norvell reportedly held a pre-draft workout with the 76ers, one of multiple teams the combo guard visited with ahead of the draft. Norvell was also mocked to Philadelphia by The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie.

The 76ers make sense for just about any prospect who might go in the second round, as they currently hold four second round picks. Plus, they could use more shooting off the bench in order to help spread the floor.

Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and Jimmy Butler – if he returns – all need space in the middle of the floor in order to create, and having a gunner who is good at moving without the ball and can knock down shots off the catch-and-shoot is a perfect fit for this Philadelphia second unit.

Norvell is also capable of scoring off the pick-and-roll and getting to the basket. While those aren’t his strongest skills, learning from an elite driving guard like Simmons would certainly help him grow in that role and should make him a more well-rounded combo guard in time.

His current skill set is a perfect fit for the 76ers, and getting the chance to play with Simmons will only strengthen him as an NBA player. As such, the 76ers would be wise to use any one of their four second round picks on Norvell.
