Isaac Johnson – American Fork, UT

C | 6-foot-11 | 220 lbs | No. 71 overall

A near 7-footer, Isaac Johnson comes in with plenty of size for the center position. Another top-100 prospect, he is rated as one of the top big men in the class and he should be an impact player from the jump. This is largely due to the fact that he seems like an ideal fit for the modern game. He is an excellent perimeter shooter for his size, runs the floor well, and has shown the ability to be a decent rim-protector as well. For his age, Johnson is remarkably skilled and oozes potential with his athleticism as well.

His ability to stretch the floor at the center position will be welcomed right away in Eugene. That is, at least, when he is ready to play for the Ducks. Johnson is planning on taking a two-year mission trip following his senior year of high school and will join the team as a 21-year-old freshman. When that time comes, he will likely be a featured member of the team. He chose Oregon over several other elite programs on the west coast and had this to say regarding Oregon’s pitch and his mission trip (The Salt Lake Tribune):

"“You come home early from your mission, you’re a Duck. You don’t go on your mission, you’re a Duck. You go on your mission, you’re a Duck. You get hurt, you’re a duck,” Johnson recalled the university telling him. “They were very supportive about whatever’s happening.”"

Isaac Johnson, regardless of when he starts with the program, will be a major piece of the puzzle. With his size and shooting ability, there will definitely be a big spot in the rotation for him. He might not be a member of the roster for this coming season but the future is set with him on the roster at least for the 2021-22 season.
