D.J. Jeffries – Olive Branch, MS

PF | 6-foot-7 | 218 lbs | No. 48 overall

Another skilled all-around player, D.J. Jeffries is ranked in the top-50 for the class. Although he might not boast an “elite skill”, he does just about everything well when on the court. As an offensive threat, he can score as a jump-shooter at a high rate and is a solid passer when necessary as well. He also uses his size well as a rebounder to create space and secure misses. Jeffries brings great length to the table and his blossoming skill as a 3-point threat will make him all the more dangerous at the college level.

Although it is impossible to determine exactly what will happen during this coming season, it seems likely that Jeffries will be competing for a starting role at one of the forward spots. His all-around game fits extremely well with the rest of the rotation as he can do a little bit of everything without any major weaknesses. He will not be a specialist when on the court in any way as he can function in a variety of roles. This gives Coach Hardaway plenty of options with regards to playing Jeffries.

Memphis is likely going to play plenty of freshmen during this upcoming campaign and Jeffries will definitely find a consistent spot in the rotation. He is a top-50 player in the class and his all-around skill level will allow him to play in many different five-man units. He is a versatile talent with plenty of upside at either small or power forward.
