NCAA Basketball Recruiting: USC and Cal join in on 5-star Moses Moody
UNC offers five-star forward Earl Timberlake
Roy Williams has had a heck of a spring and early summer on the recruiting trail. After finding out that he would lose first-round draft picks Nassir Little and Cobi White to the NBA after just one season, Williams brought in transfers Justin Pierce and Christian Keeling as well as five-star point guard Cole Anthony and four-star combo guard Anthony Harris. The Tar Heels had previous commitments from five-star center Armando Bacot and three-star point guard Jeremiah Francis.
Williams also secured a commitment from 2020 five-star center Day’ron Sharpe recently. UNC is also in the mix for other five-star prospects Cade Cunningham, Walker Kessler, Greg Brown, Isaiah Todd, Caleb Love, Ziaire Williams, Bryce Thompson, and Jaden Springer as well as four-star wings Donovan Johnson and Cam’Ron Fletcher. You now can add four-star Earl Timberlake to the list as Williams offered the 6-6 wing today.
Williams and his staff have followed Timberlake closely since the end of April. They were at the NBPA Top 100 camp recently where Timberlake was displaying his skills and just watched him on Sunday at DeMatha Catholic (MD) at the DMV Live event, reports Sherrell McMillan of Inside Carolina.
Timberlake is physically gifted with great size, length, and strength, which he uses not only to bully his way through defenses but also to create space. He is a strong rebounder with good handles and vision. The rising high school senior does need to continue to improve his shooting.
A consensus top-40 prospect, Timberlake is ranked 38th in the nation by ESPN, 30th by 247Sports Composite, 29th by Rivals and 28th by 247Sports. He holds over 25 offers and has already been on official visits to Providence and South Carolina. The Hyattsville (MD) native also is really interested in Alabam, Pitt, Seton Hall, Maryland, and Louisville.

- Noah Harris (Somerset, NJ) picked up an offer from St. Peter’s. He now holds six offers (five athletic scholarships) with five of them coming within the past few days.
