14. Tyrell Terry (Stanford – PG)

Stanford’s top recruit, the young point guard from Minneapolis will have every chance to make an impact with the Cardinal. He had offers from schools like Butler, Indiana, and Iowa State but decided to go west to play for Stanford. Clearly, he’s a smart kid, but how will he impact this Stanford team going forward?

What Terry brings to the court is fast and unselfish play. He’s already shown at the high school level that he can both shoot from outside and around the rim. He’s also the kind of guard to make the extra pass; part of his unselfish nature. The downside for Terry right now is his size. The 6’2 guard will certainly need to bulk up to develop into a top-level point guard. There are definitely more athletic guards than him, but his IQ and unselfish play certainly make him a young standout.

Terry might not to start right away for the Cardinal, but should see his role grow as the season progresses and as he builds on his game. Out of the gate, he’ll need to show that he can be a scorer at the college level while building his frame. There are some talented guards already on this roster like Daejon Davis and Bryce Wills, meaning Terry doesn’t need to come in and contribute from the beginning. He might not develop into a star, but the Cardinal certainly landed a smart, crafty guard.
