Nahiem Alleyne – Shooting Guard

Nahiem Alleyne is another recent commit to the Virginia Tech 2019 recruiting class after moving from the 2020 class. Alleyne is a Lawrenceville, Georgia native that fell in the first round of the 7A State Playoffs but still fielded a competitive team nonetheless.

He’s a player whose game has really developed throughout the past few seasons. He’s a burden to guard at 6-foot-3 and 170 pounds and can score on all three levels. He’s a slasher that attacks the rim with reckless abandon and gives them another potential option to work with in the backcourt.

Alleyne held offers from Nebraska, St. John’s, Hofstra and USF before ultimately choosing the Hokies as his destination. He gives them a solid guard that can handle and create off the basketball in the rotation.

Alleyne has an opportunity to emerge as an under-the-radar recruit for Young given his abilities. It will be interesting to see how they utilize him on the roster in 2019-20. He gives the Hokies another guard that can handle the ball and potentially run the offense. He’s proven he’s a scoring load already, he’ll just need to let his effort to the talking once he arrives on campus.
