Justin James, Wyoming

Justin James was drafted 40th overall by the Sacramento Kings.

James is an extremely versatile wing that got relatively no media attention throughout his career. He’s always been a late bloomer, but he hit his full stride during his senior season at Wyoming. James averaged 22.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game last season. He has a nice frame, standing at 6’7″ as a versatile wing player. Although his height is nice, James still lacks the proper weight needed to defend at the NBA level, but that can always be tweaked with time.

James defensive skills are above average, although his weight ad wingspan may be minor issues. He showed that he can defend man-to-man well on the perimeter, as well as off ball due to his high basketball IQ and defensive instincts.

James is a project pick due to lack of weight, but if he hits the weight room, he can turn into a solid role player off the bench. He has a very nice versatile offensive game and a high IQ, and he’s extremely well conditioned.
