Khalif Battle – Butler Bulldogs

SG | 6-foot-5 | 180 lbs | No. 93 overall

One of the top-rated recruits in program history, many fans have high expectations for Khalif Battle in a Butler uniform. Ranked just inside the national top-100, he is a dynamic two-way wing that is oozing star potential at the college level. In addition to being an outstanding athlete, Battle is already a knockdown perimeter shooter and budding defender. When necessary, he can be a go-to offensive threat with the ability to create for himself or he can function as a dangerous catch-and-shoot player.

On the defensive end of the floor, Battle uses his quickness to stay in front of most opponents and he reads passing lanes quite well. To put it simply, Battle is an all-around player with a high ceiling. Due to his abilities as a shooter and finisher, there are not many defenders who can stop Battle when on his game. He is too quick off the dribble and his 3-point shot definitely needs to be respected. Across 17 games for Playaz Club on the EYBL circuit, Battle posted averages of 13.4 points (.430/.407/.878), 3.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game.

With regards to his fit on the Butler roster, Battle will likely find plenty of playing time right away. This is due to the fact that Paul Jorgensen graduated after this past season, leaving a hole in the backcourt. Battle will likely come off the bench but his versatility as a wing could allow him to see 10-20 minutes per game. He is already a deadly player and will be a major piece for the Dawgs throughout the next few years.
