4. Rip Hamilton’s fadeaway beats Washington (1998)

Not often do players get a second shot at history, but Rip Hamilton was lucky enough to earn that fate back in 1998 when his Huskies were trailing No. 11 seed Washington in the Sweet 16.

Connecticut was down 74-73 with 15 seconds left and plenty of time to draw up a play. Unfortunately, things weren’t looking so positive for Jim Calhoun’s squad, as the Huskies missed a 5-footer in the lane. Then, Hamilton caught the rebound and shot a floater which also missed.

The ball was tipped around a few times before it landed back in Hamilton’s hands with a couple of ticks left on the clock.

Hamilton was lucky enough to get another shot at heroism and took full advantage, knocking down a contested floater as the buzzer sounded, sending the Huskies to the Elite Eight.

Connecticut was unable to survive the next round against North Carolina, but that didn’t take away from how impressive this shot truly was.
